There Is Only One First Time
It’s my first experience with book publishing. And like many first times, I began with the part that felt most natural to me: writing. I love the power of words. Writing has never just been something I do; it’s where I go to make sense of myself and the world. When everything else feels uncertain, words have always been my constant, my refuge, my way back to clarity, expressing what I hold deeper inside my soul.
I focused on the story, emotions and on the meaning. On delivering something honest and helpful for those who are searching for happiness in a relationship. The one that is built passionately, consciously, and responsibly. It took long months of internalizing, researching and pouring my heart into a literary art piece.
Only later did it truly land with me: This book will be born into the world. There is only one time I would organize a book launch for my first book. It needed to be special and unforgettable.
An Evening That Felt Like the Book Itself
The launch of ‘A Tale of Six Chairs’ was never meant to be a traditional literary event.
This book is not only read… it is felt. And so the evening became an immersive journey.
Live music by Madlen opened the space with her magical voice, inviting us out of our minds and into the present moment.
A panel conversation with Demi, The Love Doctor, a Dutch matchmaker and organizer of dating events, took us deeper into the world of modern relationships. Facilitated by Sara Verhof, my dear friend and expert in multi-cultural nuances, we discussed the complexity of modern love, the places where we struggle, retreat, lead, follow, and heal. How we look for love, how we find it and keep it.
There were moments of reflection and laughter. Moments of softness and vulnerability…
Moments where the room felt still, as if everyone was quietly recognizing something of themselves.
And then… sensuality.
Not just a performance, but as remembrance of our hidden desires and individual beauty. Kyra Clouds stepped onto the stage and suddenly the room exhaled. Her breathtaking burlesque act unfolded like a love letter written in movement: teasing, elegant, mischievous, and deliciously self-aware. It wasn’t about revealing more, but about suggesting - an artful flirt with curiosity, confidence, and charm.
In every pause, every playful glance, the performance echoed one of the book’s core messages: intimacy begins within. Femininity is not something to prove, but something to feel, to savor, to celebrate, to honor, and to return to again and again. The enchantment lingered long after the music faded - a soft reminder that beauty can be light, sensual, and joyful all at once. And that sometimes, the most seductive thing of all is simply feeling at home in yourself.
One of the most touching moments for me was hearing a live reflection from the first readers: Daria Kanters and Nancy Kasvosve. It was such an heart-touching moment. To sit there, listening as they spoke my work back to me, through their own hearts, their own lives, was deeply humbling. In that moment, I realized something profound: once a book leaves my hands, it is no longer just mine. It becomes yours. It takes on its own interpretations, its own meanings, its own reflections. You begin to see the stories through a different light. The characters gain new names and faces. The examples transform into replays of moments you’ve lived yourself. Certain passages linger, others surprise you, and suddenly your journal fills with your own aha moments.
You uncover your own truths and you carry them forward with you.
This, to me, is the most extraordinary part of being an author. Every review, every observation, every reflection has felt like a gift. In those moments, I knew that my pain, my healing, my own inner growth, the research, and the effort behind these pages were all worth it.
All Six Chairs
Throughout the evening, a special surprise awaited our guests. All six chairs from the book were present - this time not as metaphors, but as lived experiences.
I invited my guests to sit, to feel, to reflect. To recognize where they have been, where they are, and where they may be going in their love lives.
And yes - even the Golden Throne arrived especially for this occasion 😊 Honestly… how many times in your life do you actually order a Golden Throne?
Seeing my guests sit there was one of the most moving moments of the evening for me. We could chat about them with a glass of wine. We laughed and cheerfully overanalyzed what it all meant, how it felt, and which chair they felt most drawn to.
Gratitude, From the Heart
To everyone who joined me that evening - THANK YOU!
Thank you for your presence.
Thank you for your openness.
Thank you for welcoming this book and being part of this special moment.
To the incredible Master of Ceremony, Anna Potorska van de Loo, who has been part of my life for more than twenty years and has witnessed my journey up close, from moments of hardship to hard-earned successes. She led the event with such grace, warmth, and authenticity, guiding the room effortlessly and making everyone feel both welcome and connected. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect person to share moments of pride and tears with.
To Madlen and the musicians, to performers, readers, my friends, and everyone who helped shape the atmosphere. You turned a launch into an experience, and I will carry that with me always.
And to ‘A Tale of Six Chairs’ - may you find your way into the hands of those who need you.
May you offer clarity where there is confusion, softness where there is armor, and hope where there is resignation.
An Invitation
‘A Tale of Six Chairs’ is an invitation to enter your inner world - not to escape your life, but to understand it more deeply. To take a seat in each chair. To notice your patterns, your defenses, your longings. To let the book guide you through an inner journey toward clarity and more conscious love. You can get your copy here.
Staying in Touch
If you’d like to continue this journey - through reflections, insights, and future conversations around love, self-leadership, and self-awareness - I warmly invite you to join my mailing list.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for entering this world with me.
With gratitude,
Evie Solenne
